MissionHires seeks a Solid Waste Manager to assist in planning, design, permitting, and construction oversight of solid waste facilities including landfills, transfer stations, recycling centers, and related site civil works. Working closely with senior engineers and project managers, you will perform technical design, 3D site modeling, calculations, reporting, and field coordination while gaining exposure to client interaction and project delivery. How You'll Contribute

  • Design waste management facilities, including transfer stations, composting sites, landfills, scale facilities, and holding ponds
  • Develop drawings and specifications considering waste types, environmental impacts, and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare engineering reports for waste management systems and processes
  • Create designs and calculations for system components such as stormwater systems, roads, leachate management systems, and miscellaneous infrastructure
  • Conduct 3D computer‑aided site modeling for design
  • Perform engineering calculations for sizing and layout of waste management infrastructure and features
  • Assist with planning, permitting, and construction oversight of facilities
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers; support client coordination, fieldwork, and project delivery

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • BS in Engineering with 4+ years of engineering experience (solid waste engineering and/or consulting experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
  • Engineer Intern (EI) license required or ability to obtain within six months; Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; provide and receive constructive feedback to support team goals
  • Excellent work ethic and comprehensive understanding of engineering principles
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
