MissionHires is hiring a Project Controls Analyst (Construction) to safeguard project margins and enable executive decision-making across complex, long-duration projects in fixed-price and hybrid contract environments. You will lead cost control, forecasting, and commercial compliance; integrate schedule and cost data; manage bonding/insurance/permitting compliance; and produce clear, data-driven reports for leadership while partnering closely with Project Management, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, and Accounting.

How You'll Contribute

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analyses
  • Track actuals vs. budget to identify and mitigate margin erosion risks
  • Support earned value analysis and monthly WIP adjustments
  • Monitor labor productivity, subcontractor performance, and material cost trends
  • Support contract setup and ongoing commercial administration
  • Track change orders, scope growth, claims, and commercial recoveries
  • Monitor contingency usage, risk transfer exposure, and liquidated damages risk
  • Coordinate payment and performance bond issuance and underwriting documentation
  • Track bond requirements, renewals, and releases per contract milestones
  • Manage COIs to ensure coverage limits and endorsements meet requirements
  • Track and support procurement of permits, licenses, and approvals
  • Maintain compliance tracking for bonding, insurance, and regulatory obligations
  • Prepare monthly forecasts, cash flow projections, and margin outlooks
  • Develop concise executive and project team reporting
  • Provide scenario analysis for cost overruns, schedule delays, and recovery plans
  • Integrate cost and schedule data to enhance project controls visibility
  • Identify early warning indicators for schedule slippage and productivity loss
  • Support mitigation planning with Project Managers and leadership
  • Partner cross-functionally with PMs, Engineering, Procurement, and Accounting
  • Support internal project reviews, audits, and risk committees
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls tools and systems

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 3–7+ years of experience in project controls, cost control, or project financial management
  • Direct experience supporting design-build projects
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience with ERP and project systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage Intacct, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of cost forecasting, earned value, and margin management
  • Experience working within fixed-price or lump-sum EPC contracts
  • Exposure to claims management, change orders, and commercial negotiations
  • Experience in energy, industrial, infrastructure, or large commercial projects (baggage/material handling a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills with sound judgment
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
