Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is seeking a detail-oriented Plumbing or Sheet Metal Detailer on behalf of a construction company. This role supports mechanical construction projects by producing accurate shop drawings, equipment and room layouts, and 3D BIM models; coordinating MEP systems; and helping identify and resolve design and installation clashes before they affect the field.

How You'll Contribute
  • Create shop drawings for plumbing, piping, HVAC, and/or sheet metal systems on construction projects.
  • Develop equipment layouts, room layouts, installation details, and other construction drawings.
  • Create and maintain 3D BIM models using applicable AEC, BIM, and CAD software.
  • Coordinate MEP systems and support clash detection to reduce potential construction errors, rework, time, and costs.
  • Receive, log, track, expedite, distribute, and maintain shop drawings, RFIs, and other project documentation.
  • Maintain organized document-control protocols so project information is accessible and understandable to project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with design, build, and field teams to identify and resolve design issues before installation.
  • Read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and installation requirements.
  • Attend construction coordination meetings and other project meetings as required.
  • Support project coordination activities across plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal trades.

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • High school diploma or GED plus at least 2 years of related experience, or completion of a trade apprentice program.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal trades and field installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents and drawings.
  • Experience with applicable AEC, BIM, and CAD software, including Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling, BIM coordination, and clash detection processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings and documentation.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple project tasks and maintain organized project records.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write, edit, and proofread technical and project-related content.
  • Strong understanding of construction craft and mechanical-system installation practices.
