MissionHires is hiring an SMT Process Engineer to optimize and lead SMT-focused process engineering, maintenance, and facilities operations at our Huntsville, AR manufacturing site for aerospace and defense electromechanical assemblies. This role drives uptime, compliance, safety, and continuous improvement while leading maintenance teams, managing budgets, and delivering capital projects on time and within scope.

How You'll Contribute

  • Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to optimize SMT workflows, facility layout, maintenance processes, and equipment uptime
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring issues
  • Develop, update, and maintain SOPs for maintenance and facility operations
  • Oversee facility operations, including HVAC, utilities, mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, and building assets
  • Implement preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs to reduce downtime and increase readiness
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and life-safety requirements
  • Direct, mentor, and evaluate maintenance technicians; assign tasks and track performance
  • Build team capability through coaching and training; establish and monitor KPIs
  • Foster a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement within maintenance
  • Manage facility and maintenance budgets, including labor, materials, utilities, and capex
  • Manage spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service contracts
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for facility improvements and maintenance strategies
  • Plan and manage capital projects, renovations, and SMT/equipment installations
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and contractors to deliver projects on time, within scope, and budget
  • Ensure facility readiness to support production, logistics, and business operations

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and optimizing SMT equipment and processes
  • 5+ years of experience managing process engineering and/or facilities projects
  • Proficiency with maintenance planning tools and CMMS
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and RCM practices
  • Knowledge of regulatory, safety, environmental compliance, and building/facility systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process optimization skills
  • Proven leadership with experience supervising and developing maintenance teams
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Project management experience (PMP a plus)
  • Preferred (not required): CMRP, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, CFM, OSHA 30, PMP
