Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is seeking a Senior Estimator – Environmental Services to lead Construction Design-Build and EPC estimates and proposals across a diverse portfolio. You will drive estimating strategy, ensure high-quality, risk-aware estimates, lead subcontractor and vendor engagements, present estimates to internal and external stakeholders, and mentor staff. This role ensures accurate, defensible pricing and proposals that support fact-based client decisions while minimizing company risk.

How You'll Contribute

  • Lead overall estimating strategy, implementation, and pre-construction estimating services for Design-Build and EPC projects
  • Review and approve project summary schedules for validity and completeness
  • Manage estimating workload and scheduling to ensure timely deliverables
  • Lead and present estimating data during risk review processes
  • Ensure compliance with estimating methodologies to produce high-quality, accurate estimates
  • Lead project team reviews of quantities, scope, value engineering items, alternates, and options
  • Review and approve bond and insurance quotes; evaluate commercial terms, conditions, and risk issues
  • Oversee small and disadvantaged business solicitation and evaluations
  • Lead subcontractor solicitation, pre-qualification, and bid package reviews prior to release for quotes
  • Review and approve specialty and standard equipment pricing
  • Present estimates to internal and external clients and lead proposal presentations
  • Conduct final estimate reviews prior to management approval and proposal submission
  • Manage cost history, database management, and continuous improvement of the estimating process
  • Approve pricing for general conditions and indirect costs; review inputs from project management
  • Recommend fee, contingency, and escalation; provide man-hour quotes for estimating efforts
  • Develop strategies for contract partnering agreements and joint venture estimate reviews
  • Identify and resolve scope gaps and overlaps; ensure clarity of estimate assumptions and clarifications
  • Train, mentor, and develop estimating staff
  • Comply with all company policies, standards, and EHS requirements

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent applicable experience may substitute for degree
  • 7+ years of direct project estimating experience in construction/EPC/Design-Build environments
  • Proven ability to work independently and in teams, with strong creative and analytical decision-making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder presentations
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office, ConEst, and K-base
  • Experience leading risk reviews, subcontractor solicitation/pre-qualification, and bid/package validation
  • Demonstrated capability to manage estimating schedules, workload, and deliverables
  • Experience reviewing bonds, insurance, commercial terms, and risk issues
  • Ability to develop and validate value engineering items, alternates, and options
  • Strong cost history management and estimating database/process ownership
  • OSHA 10-hour certification (required)
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
