MissionHires is seeking a Safety & Environmental Specialist to lead and support safety initiatives and environmental compliance at a 150-employee, non-union manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Division EHS Manager, this newly created role will shape plant safety performance and culture through relationship building, coaching, and accountability. Candidates must bring a BS in Safety, Environmental, or related technical field and 2–3+ years of plant-level safety experience.

How You'll Contribute

  • Lead and support plant-level safety initiatives that improve performance and culture
  • Drive accountability for safety practices across departments and shifts
  • Build strong relationships with plant leadership, supervisors, and frontline employees to influence safe behaviors
  • Support and maintain general environmental compliance activities and documentation
  • Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and corrective actions
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Develop, deliver, and track safety training and toolbox talks
  • Monitor and report safety metrics and trends to the Division EHS Manager
  • Support continuous improvement in EHS programs, procedures, and standards
  • Participate in regulatory readiness and internal/external audits

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor of Science in Safety, Environmental, or a closely related technical degree (required)
  • 2–3+ years of plant-level safety experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment (required)

  • Hands-on experience with incident investigation, corrective actions, and safety training
