MissionHires is partnering with a long-standing Nashville-based General Contractor to hire an Assistant Project Manager (APM) for commercial construction projects ranging from $50K–$5M across Greater Nashville. The APM will support the full project lifecycle—from preconstruction through closeout—collaborating with estimators and the PM to drive client satisfaction, budget adherence, profitability, and on-time delivery. This is a local, in-office/field role with strong mentorship, training on software, and a people-first culture focused on work-life balance and professional growth.

How You'll Contribute

  • Support the Project Manager across preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases
  • Collaborate with estimators and assist in managing project financials to meet budget and profitability targets
  • Serve as a point of contact for owners alongside the PM to ensure client satisfaction
  • Draft and refine scopes of work and subcontract exhibits
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust CPM schedules; assist field teams in schedule execution
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, owners, owner reps, and designers to drive schedule progress
  • Assist with documentation, reporting, and adherence to project controls and company standards
  • Participate in risk identification, issue resolution, and change coordination throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support quality, safety, and compliance expectations on active job sites

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 1–2+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience (APM/PM) required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Track record on commercial projects (retail, medical, office, light industrial preferred)
  • Ability to create and update CPM schedules

  • Strong coordination and communication skills with owners, subcontractors, and design teams
  • Local to Greater Nashville, TN (no relocation offered)
  • Valid driver’s license held for the past 12 consecutive months with acceptable MVR (no DUI in past 36 months)
