Why This Role Matters

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to lead a high-performing food manufacturing facility in East Texas. This role is pivotal in driving operational efficiency, enhancing product quality, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple production shifts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in poultry processing operations, particularly in kill and tray pack environments, and a proven ability to develop and lead teams within a unionized setting. You'll be tasked with optimizing productivity, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and cultivating a positive, performance-driven culture.

How You'll Contribute

  • Oversee all operational functions of the facility, including production, maintenance, sanitation, quality assurance, safety, shipping/receiving, and scheduling.
  • Direct and mentor front-line and mid-level leaders, with a focus on succession planning and talent development.
  • Ensure food safety, product quality, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Review operational and financial data to identify improvement areas and implement process enhancements.
  • Champion Total Quality Management (TQM) practices across departments.
  • Prepare and present monthly reports on plant efficiency and expenses.
  • Lead capital improvement projects from proposal to execution.
  • Collaborate on company-wide initiatives, including talent mapping, retention, and performance improvement.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years in poultry or food manufacturing, including experience in a kill or tray pack facility.
  • At least 6 years of progressive leadership experience managing large or complex teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading in a unionized environment.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and preferably SAP.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel required (6–11 trips per year).
