The General Manager plays a critical leadership role at Quality Poultry and Seafood, a fourth-generation, family-owned business with over 70 years of Gulf Coast tradition. This position ensures the successful operation of all business divisions—wholesale, retail market, award-winning café, and property management. The General Manager will drive operational excellence, team leadership, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction, preserving the company’s legacy while positioning it for continued growth.
Oversee daily operations across all business units, including the seafood market, café, shipping office, and properties, ensuring efficient coordination and workflow.
Manage financial functions including cash flow, payroll, purchase approvals, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting in coordination with the accounting team.
Supervise payroll and HR processes, including hiring, scheduling, employee benefits, bonus calculations, and staff development across departments.
Maintain regulatory compliance with FDA, USDA, DMR, DOT, and Health Department requirements, overseeing audits, licensing, and safety documentation (HAACP, GMP, SSOP).
Lead purchasing and inventory strategy, analyzing major purchases (e.g., shrimp), reviewing vendor pricing, and setting par levels with the purchasing manager.
Support marketing and customer engagement, including advertising content review, pricing strategy, and customer service standards in retail and café settings.
Oversee IT systems and internal tools, working with vendors to maintain software (e.g., SeaTouch), credit card processing, and data analysis tools.
Coordinate with ownership on business planning, strategic decisions, and long-term company goals.
Proven experience in business operations management, preferably in the food, seafood, or hospitality industry
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, payroll, and cash flow oversight
Leadership and team management skills across diverse departments and roles
Familiarity with regulatory requirements in food safety and government reporting (e.g., HAACP, USDA, FDA)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Comfort with technology systems, spreadsheets (Excel), and point-of-sale or inventory systems (e.g., SeaTouch)
Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt and lead through change
