MissionHires is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead an Engineering Product Team driving design, development, implementation, qualification, and sustaining engineering for residential and commercial HVAC products across multiple platforms. This role owns full lifecycle NPD, reliability growth, productivity improvements, agency compliance, and cross‑functional manufacturing support while mentoring and developing technical talent.

How You'll Contribute

  • Lead multiple New Product Development (NPD), sustaining, and special engineering projects through the complete product development cycle
  • Own design, optimization, and qualification of HVAC systems using advanced analytical methods and experimental techniques
  • Maintain and update engineering drawings, standards, and specifications; document designs with BOMs, drawings, and product change notifications
  • Plan and manage product qualification and agency compliance test programs
  • Drive reliability growth and productivity improvement initiatives
  • Conduct analytical studies using state-of-the-art simulation tools
  • Ensure design quality with supporting calculations and design proposals
  • Support manufacturing, sales & marketing, quality, technical services, and supply chain
  • Interface with vendors, customers, and field personnel
  • Manage, mentor, and develop engineering and technical personnel; perform full-spectrum supervisory duties
  • Deliver presentations for technical and business stakeholders
  • Participate in regulatory committees for equipment and system-level applications
  • Translate industry and market knowledge into customer-centric solutions aligned with business strategy
  • Develop product families, systems, and component roadmaps based on multi-year strategies and technology roadmaps
  • Ensure adherence to financial budgets on planned projects

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
  • Approximately 10 years of design and project experience; 3+ years leading teams preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC system design and applications, including component design, integration, and interactions
  • Expertise in New Product Development (NPD) processes, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
  • Advanced knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and heat exchanger design
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, test stands, and instrumentation
  • Expert knowledge of industry standards and agency compliance for HVAC products
  • Familiarity with air management, aeroacoustics, and structural analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing methods used in HVAC&R; industrial experience a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of system controls, sequence of operations, and electrical wiring methods
  • Familiarity with data acquisition, advanced experimental techniques, instrumentation, calibration, measurement systems, uncertainty analysis, and Design of Experiments (DoE)
  • Proficiency with state-of-the-art simulation tools
  • Familiarity with computer programming languages and Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills; ability to translate conceptual designs into tangible solutions
  • Strong communication, interpersonal influence, and strategic stakeholder management skills
  • Proven leadership, coaching, conflict resolution, and team development capabilities
  • Ability to adapt to change, manage pressure, and adjust plans to meet evolving needs
  • EPA Section 608 Refrigerant Certification – Universal is a plus
