The Director of Construction leads development of construction management scopes and defines execution strategies to ensure project success. This role works closely with design teams to refine plans and specifications for constructability, and oversees all phases of construction administration across a portfolio of projects to ensure efficient delivery, quality control, and compliance.
Supports business development initiatives and design coordination.
Leads and directs the construction management team and on-site staff.
Oversees pre-construction meetings, site coordination, and contractor performance.
Monitors project schedules, costs, and forecasts construction expenditures.
Reviews and approves contractor payment applications, change orders, and RFQs.
Manages construction management budgets and field office operations.
Resolves inspection, contract administration, and construction-related issues.
Directs project representatives and engineers to ensure effective site execution.
Keeps all parties informed of clarifications and interpretations required for proper execution.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management, with 5+ years of construction management experience.
Proven experience with construction documents, retail construction, building codes, and cost estimating; proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage small- to large-scale construction projects.
Effective communicator with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience delivering commercial restaurant construction projects is required.
