MissionHires is seeking five Swiss CNC Field Service Technicians on behalf of a premier CNC machine tool builder to support customers across Minnesota and New England (there are jobs in Minnesota, as well as separate jobs in New England). You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Swiss CNC machine tools (primarily Tsugami) at customer sites, ensuring peak machine performance and exceptional customer communication. Minneapolis requires stronger hands-on Swiss experience; New England offers more flexibility for candidates with conventional mill/lathe service backgrounds and training at HQ in CT.

Perform preventive maintenance, alignments, and performance optimization on Swiss CNC machines (Tsugami)
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, including controls, motors, sensors, wiring, bearings, and spindles
Leverage manuals, technical documentation, and vendor/internal support to solve complex problems
Communicate equipment status, findings, repairs, and recommendations clearly and professionally to customers
Accurately complete and submit detailed service and installation reports
Maintain strong vendor, supplier, and customer relationships with a high standard of professionalism
Stay current on technologies and product updates through training and technical seminars; maintain deep knowledge of equipment lines
Represent the organization with technical excellence and reliability; meet customer commitments
Perform other related field service duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED; technical school background required
2+ years hands-on CNC machinery repair experience (Swiss CNC/Tsugami strongly preferred; FANUC or similar control experience highly transferable)
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (dial indicators, micrometers) and machine alignments
Experience with rotating machinery, spindles, and precision bearings
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and technical drawings
Advanced troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant business software
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100% within assigned territory
Strong customer-facing communication skills; ability to perform under pressure
Comfort independently diagnosing machine problems without significant supervision
Ability to pass a 7-year background check (no DUIs) and drug screening at onboarding and ongoing for government contracts
Preferred: Current or recent experience with a machine tool builder/distributor as a field service technician
Deal-breakers: Only operating/programming without repair experience; primarily facilities maintenance; unwillingness to travel; weak electrical troubleshooting; poor customer communication
Must be a US Citizen (no sponsorship available)
