Morton is seeking a SQL Developer for our logistics client in the Greater Philadelphia region. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining robust SQL Server solutions that power ERP, TMS, and WMS systems. This is a hands-on role requiring strong SQL development, scripting, and data modeling skills — as well as a good understanding of logistics workflows and system performance.
Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server databases, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers using T-SQL in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Build and maintain ETL processes to manage data between ERP, TMS, WMS, and financial systems.
Create automated scripts and jobs using Python, PowerShell, or other scripting tools to support system maintenance and data integration.
Develop and support SSRS reports and custom reporting solutions.
Apply strong programming logic and data modeling skills to ensure scalable and maintainable database solutions.
Troubleshoot performance issues, tune queries, and maintain high standards of data quality and availability.
Understand and document database schema structures, workflows, and data processes.
Work with business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into efficient data queries.
Assist with system integrations (APIs, flat files) and data migrations.
Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure secure and efficient data systems.
Bachelor’s Degree - Completed
3–6 years of experience as a SQL Developer or Database Engineer.
Advanced knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and SSMS.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or VBScript.
Strong understanding of database schema design, data modeling, and query optimization.
Familiarity with SSRS and other reporting tools.
Experience with ETL tools or custom data transformation processes.
Preferred: Experience with Koerber or other Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Preferred: Background in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and self-management skills.
