Senior US Tax Accountant

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM -1:00 PM Eastern Time

Salary: $2,000 per month

Job Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced Senior US Tax Accountant to join our team remotely. This role involves overseeing and reviewing complex U.S. tax filings, managing and guiding offshore staff, ensuring compliance with firm standards, and communicating directly with clients. In addition to reviewing returns, the Senior US Tax Accountant will occasionally prepare complex tax returns when needed and provide mentorship to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide offshore staff on project prioritization, answer questions, and monitor return progress.

• Review U.S. tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1041, 1120-S, 1120, and 1065.

• Assist with 1099 preparation and review.

• Ensure all tax files comply with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and are ready for partner review.

• Communicate with clients regarding follow-up questions and clarifications.

• Review bookkeeping work prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy.

• Oversee and ensure proficiency in the firm’s tax software.

Qualifications:

• CPA or EA certification preferred

• Proven experience in U.S. tax return preparation and review

• Strong knowledge of federal tax forms (1040, 1041, 1120-S, 1120, 1065)

• Proficiency with US Accounting System; familiarity with QuickBooks Online and Canopy (practice management software) a plus.

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to provide leadership and guidance to offshore team members
