MissionHires is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC & Plumbing) for BKV Group’s Washington, DC (Georgetown) office. This role provides senior mechanical design leadership, leads projects, represents the discipline in client meetings, mentors team members, and ensures high-quality deliverables for multi-family, commercial, and local government projects.

How You'll Contribute

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Mechanical engineers and designers
  • Develop and manage project work plans
  • Lead systems selection and define basis of design; ensure quality of work product
  • Attend and actively participate in project meetings; communicate effectively with team members
  • Represent the Mechanical discipline in client meetings and communicate with clients as needed
  • Coordinate mechanical/plumbing design with other disciplines and the Project Manager
  • Support construction phase activities, including submittal reviews and RFI responses
  • Maintain and develop mechanical/plumbing standards with senior engineering staff
  • Assist the Mechanical Director with mechanical/plumbing work product quality control
  • Act as a senior resource in HVAC and plumbing design, guiding project engineers and designers
  • Collaborate openly and professionally to resolve issues and advance design development

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Minimum 8 years of focused mechanical/plumbing design experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical)
  • Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Trane Trace load calculation software
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public
  • Experience with leading-edge multi-family housing, commercial, and local government projects (preferred)
  • Strong client-facing communication and coordination skills across disciplines
  • Ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
