MissionHires is seeking a Senior Manager, Human Resources to serve as a strategic business partner to manufacturing plant leadership in Elk Grove, CA. This on-site role will lead HR strategy and operations, drive a high-performance culture, elevate employee engagement, and align HR initiatives with plant and corporate goals. The leader will own talent acquisition for both salaried and production roles, employee relations, HR systems and compliance, training and development, compensation, benefits support, and HR team leadership.

How You'll Contribute

  • Partner with site operations leaders to design and implement proactive employee relations programs that foster morale and engagement
  • Develop and execute innovative, cost-effective strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent at all levels
  • Lead staffing and recruitment: manpower planning, full-cycle recruiting for salaried roles, and direct hiring for production team members
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding: background checks, drug screenings, offer letters, new hire paperwork, and orientation
  • Maintain HR systems and databases to ensure accurate payroll and employee records; oversee HRIS data integrity
  • Administer and track leaves of absence, unemployment claims, and ensure policy compliance
  • Conduct investigations and advise management on issue resolution and corrective actions
  • Lead training and development initiatives: performance reviews, succession planning, technical training for skilled roles, and leadership development with Corporate L&OD
  • Administer corrective action processes fairly and consistently in alignment with company values
  • Partner with Corporate HR on communications, compensation, benefits, and policy development to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Manage local compensation programs: performance appraisal cycles, wage rate administration, and annual increase recommendations
  • Support employee benefits administration and respond to employee and supervisor inquiries
  • Collaborate with corporate and cross-site HR teams on HR projects and initiatives
  • Provide leadership to HR staff including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development
  • Organize and oversee employee engagement and recognition events
  • Ensure adherence to federal and California employment laws and regulations
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and organizational development

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong HRIS background; Workday experience preferred
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer literacy
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and California state employment laws and regulations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with discretion handling sensitive and confidential matters
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, coaching, and delivering difficult messages
  • Strategic thinker committed to continuous improvement in HR and organizational development
  • Service-oriented, collaborative mindset with strong business partnership skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred (not mandatory)
  • Ability to work on-site in Elk Grove, CA and supervise HR staff
