The Turbine Production Engineering (TPE) department provides our manufacturing, operations, and supply chain partners with technical engineering support related to Solar’s gas turbine components and assemblies. TPE engineers are expected to support all engine model lines with respect to their accountable part family.
Provide technical engineering support for gas turbine components and assemblies across multiple engine model lines.
Support manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams with production and technical issues.
Review and resolve non-conforming or discrepant materials in collaboration with quality and engineering teams.
Work with manufacturing processes including castings, forgings, machining, coatings, heat treatments, and welding.
Analyze engineering drawings and inspection reports (CMM, ATOS) to support quality and production decisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement process improvements.
Apply Six Sigma / continuous improvement methodologies and support data-driven engineering solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, production engineering, or mechanical design.
Experience with gas turbines, turbomachinery, or complex mechanical systems.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, machining, sheet metal forming, coatings, and heat treatment.
Ability to read and interpret GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and engineering drawings.
Experience reviewing inspection data from CMM, ATOS, or similar measurement systems.
Basic experience with CAD tools such as Pro-E / CREO or similar systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
