This is a high-impact engineering role supporting an established industrial facility in Trenton, SC. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead automation upgrades, electrical control system improvements, and continuous improvement projects in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Lead modifications of existing equipment to support automation and process improvement
Design and manage electrical control systems, including safety hardware and communication networks
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to implement electrical upgrades successfully
Provide technical requirements and support to external suppliers and contractors
Support contractors and maintenance teams throughout project execution
Troubleshoot, program, and optimize control systems (Allen Bradley PLCs and drive systems)
Oversee capital and expense budgets aligned with operational priorities
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (remote IO, HMI, Rockwell software)
Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience
Knowledge of machine safety, including NFPA 70E arc flash and risk assessments
Familiarity with industrial ethernet and machinery network layouts
Proven ability to manage projects and budgets
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Strong communication skills working with internal teams and vendors
Self-starter mindset with strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing contractors or maintenance technicians
Manufacturing / industrial production background
Allen Bradley VFD and servo drive programming exposure
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
