A Staff Accountant II – Housing is responsible for managing the financial operations, records and reporting for residential properties owned and/or managed by VOA Texas using RealPage and other financial tools. They ensure accurate accounting of property operations, support property managers with financial insights, and maintain compliance with accounting standards. Duties will also include processing invoices for payment for properties.
Oversee the processing of financial invoices and records for assigned properties, including income, expenses, and general ledger entries.
Strong background with property management software using RealPage.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for property portfolios.
Conduct account reconciliations, including bank accounts, escrow accounts, and tenant ledgers.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis for each property.
Review and process invoices, vendor payments, and property-related expenses.
Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Collaborate with property managers, leasing teams, and maintenance staff to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Attends all required meetings and training courses.
Requires regular attendance and punctuality during the scheduled shift to perform the above essential functions.
Performs other duties and special assignments as directed.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus three to five years of general ledger, accounts payable, reconciliations and property software RealPage.
Not-for-profit accounting experience preferred; knowledge of GAAP is necessary.
Strong experience and skill using RealPage.
Skill in the use of a personal computer and software applications (e.g. Microsoft, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records
