Senior Accountant (Healthtech)

MissionHires is hiring a Senior Accountant (Healthtech) on behalf of our client, a fast-growing healthtech firm transitioning from outsourced accounting to its first in-house F&A hire. You’ll operate as a full-charge, department-of-one to run day-to-day accounting, own the monthly close, manage billing and invoicing, and produce GAAP financials—then scale processes, tools, and controls for the future. This role blends hands-on execution with strategic impact, including budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, and business insights for leadership. Strong Excel skills, accuracy, and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset are essential. Growth to a leadership role is possible.

• Own day-to-day accounting operations across A/P, A/R, billing, and cash management
• Independently maintain the general ledger and produce GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Own and execute the monthly close (reconciliations, payroll and commission accruals, prepaid amortization, depreciation)
• Complete weekly client billing and invoicing; refine processes and maintain customer KPIs
• Maintain the master list of client accounts and product lines for billed resources in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
• Strengthen internal processes and controls to ensure compliance and scalability
• Develop budgets for project proposals and create project accounting tools and forecasting models
• Analyze client and financial data to identify historical trends and provide actionable insights to leadership
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve efficiency and set up the finance function for future success

• 5+ years of full-charge accounting experience with proven application of US GAAP
• Demonstrated excellence in accuracy, work quality, and on-time delivery of deadlines
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, modeling, deep-dive analysis)
• Hands-on experience owning monthly close, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and depreciation
• Experience with client billing/invoicing processes and KPI maintenance
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) or similar accounting systems
• Ability to build and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance practices
• Comfort operating as an accounting department of one in a fast-growing environment
• Strong analytical and communication skills to deliver meaningful business insights to leadership
