The Senior Account Executive is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities across the transportation and logistics sector. You will manage the full sales cycle—from initial outreach to contract execution—while serving as a trusted advisor to prospective customers.
This is a hunter-driven role, ideal for high-energy sales professionals who consistently outperform quotas, thrive on autonomy, and excel at building strong customer relationships.
Midwest-based and within driving distance of Chattanooga, TN; Nashville, TN; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; or Milwaukee, WI
Develop new business opportunities through outbound calls, targeted outreach, onsite visits, and industry events.
Manage a balanced pipeline sourced 50% from inbound leads and 50% from self-driven outbound prospecting.
Conduct needs assessments and tailor product demonstrations with support from Platform Engineers.
Lead persuasive sales presentations and deliver solution-focused demos independently as needed.
Cultivate deep understanding of transportation and logistics challenges to effectively position the PCS platform.
Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and influencers across customer organizations.
Own the full sales cycle: outreach, discovery, demo, negotiation, and closing multi-year licensing agreements.
Log daily activities, manage pipeline forecasts, and maintain accurate opportunity data in Salesforce.
Serve as the primary customer advocate from initial conversation through handoff to implementation.
Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales quotas in a high-performance environment.
5+ years in direct or inside sales, ideally selling to small/midsize transportation companies.
Track record of consistent quota attainment in a hunter role.
Experience selling technology solutions: SaaS, logistics software, platforms, or transportation tech.
Strong outbound prospecting skills—comfortable cold calling, visiting clients, and attending events.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing capabilities.
Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
Strategic pipeline management and mathematical aptitude for forecasting.
Ability to build trust with high-stress customers in the transportation sector.
Base salary is $90,000-125,000k depending on years of experience plus $80,000 variable compensation target for a total OTE of $170,000 to $205,000Competitive base salary + lucrative monthly commission structure.
