Our client, a long-established, manufacturer and distributor in the automotive lighting sector, is seeking a proactive and relationship-driven In-House Salesperson to support national sales growth. This role blends account management, data-driven sales strategy, agency coordination, and customer-facing field work.
The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys visiting customers and attending trade shows, and is equally comfortable analyzing data, forecasting, and presenting insights to leadership.
Role Overview:
This position focuses on managing and expanding existing accounts, supporting national rep agencies, and driving strategic growth initiatives. You’ll handle pricing updates, forecasting, reporting, and customer engagement while representing the company at industry events and customer trade shows.

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and strengthening customer relationships within an assigned geographic region.

Key Responsibilities
Territory Management & Strategy 🌎
Maintain full oversight and strategic development of the assigned territory.
Demonstrate deep expertise in the territory, customer base, and competitive landscape.
Act as an ambassador of the company and its brands 🤝.
Drive strategic sales initiatives and meet defined objectives.
Work with customers to forecast usage and communicate insights to sales leadership.
Leverage custom design projects with key accounts to grow business.
Analyze market trends to identify and develop new opportunities 📊.
Manage and sell closeouts and overstocks.
Build proficiency in internal systems (CRM, ERP, websites, etc.).
Maintain accurate and timely CRM updates daily.
Participate in goal-setting and monthly progress reviews.
Become an expert in assigned brands while maintaining knowledge of all product lines.

Lead Generation & Prospecting 🔍
Prospect and generate new business through tradeshows, industry publications, market research, and online tools.
Follow up promptly to convert leads into opportunities.
Share leads across U.S. and international teammates (cross-pollination! 🌐).
Work closely with inside sales to vet and qualify leads.
Sample & Presentation Management 🎨
Maintain an organized inventory of sales samples and travel materials.
Promote new, bestselling, and resurging patterns effectively.
Prepare tailored sample assortments for specific clients.
Conduct polished virtual and in-person presentations 🖥️👥.

Travel & Expense Management ✈️
Plan travel routes efficiently to maximize customer visits.
Travel approximately 50% of the time.
Follow company T&E policies and manage expenses responsibly.
Maintain consistent communication with customers and build long-term relationships.
Understand customer development schedules and align efforts accordingly.
Host client lunches/dinners when appropriate.
Submit all expense reports on time.
Customer Engagement & Follow-Up 💬
Ensure customers receive and review requested samples.
Follow up on placements and opportunities.
Ask for the sale confidently! 🏆
Respond to emails and phone calls within 24 hours.
Serve as the main contact for merchandisers, executives, creative directors, and more.
Pass along customer service issues and support quick resolutions.
Cross-Team Communication & Collaboration 🤝
Communicate with domestic and international teams to support customer needs.
Collaborate with Tier 1 sales directors on key accounts.
Support colleagues when needed to ensure collective success.
Prepare information for monthly segment meetings and weekly executive meetings.
Assist customer service teams by maintaining and escalating order-related issues.
Work as a unified team to resolve critical matters efficiently.

Sales Meetings & Reporting 📄
Participate in weekly sales meetings to recap visits, placements, and key activities.
Share insights on market conditions and competitive product trends.
Join product development and tie-break meetings for new product evaluation.
Maintain and update weekly needle-mover and placement lists.
Review weekly sales reports for accuracy in attributes, pricing, and customer information.
Partner with sales leadership on annual budgeting and planning.
