Salary

$110,000 - $160,000 per year

01
Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is seeking an RF Analog Design Engineer on behalf of a global embedded computing technology leader. In this role, you will design and validate high-performance RF and mixed-signal hardware for mission-critical aerospace, defense, industrial, radar, electronic warfare, communications, and signal-processing platforms. You will own work across the product lifecycle, from architecture and simulation through schematic capture, board bring-up, validation, and production, while partnering with FPGA, PCB layout, embedded software, and systems engineering teams.

02
How You'll Contribute
  • Design complete RF and mixed-signal signal chains, including RF front ends, analog filters, ADC/DAC interfaces, clock generation, synchronization, and low-noise power architectures.
  • Develop analog front-end architectures for FMC- and RFSoC-based embedded computing products.
  • Take complex RF hardware designs from concept and system architecture through schematic capture, PCB implementation, laboratory debugging, validation, and production release.
  • Select, integrate, and optimize high-speed ADCs, DACs, clocking components, RF devices, and supporting analog circuitry.
  • Design RF circuits operating through 18 GHz, with opportunities to support higher-frequency designs.
  • Develop programmable clock generation and distribution systems that support multiple sampling rates and bandwidths.
  • Design low-noise power supplies and power-distribution architectures for high-performance RF and mixed-signal systems.
  • Collaborate with PCB layout engineers on component placement, controlled-impedance routing, grounding, shielding, isolation, low-loss materials, and manufacturability.
  • Work closely with FPGA, embedded software, and systems engineering teams to integrate high-speed converters with FPGA-based processing architectures.
  • Perform hands-on hardware characterization and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, and related RF test equipment.
  • Analyze and resolve complex analog, RF, mixed-signal, signal-integrity, noise, timing, and synchronization issues.
  • Contribute to technical architecture decisions and provide technical leadership and mentorship as needed.
03
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience designing complete RF and mixed-signal signal chains, including RF front ends, analog filtering, ADC/DAC interfaces, clock generation, synchronization, and low-noise power architectures.
  • Experience delivering complex RF hardware from system architecture through schematic capture, PCB implementation, hardware debugging, validation, and production.
  • Strong knowledge of RF design theory, including filter design, impedance matching, signal integrity, noise mitigation, shielding, grounding, and high-speed mixed-signal PCB design.
  • Extensive experience selecting and integrating high-speed ADCs and DACs from Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, or comparable suppliers.
  • Experience designing RF circuits operating up to 18 GHz.
  • Strong understanding of digital interfaces between high-speed converters and FPGA-based processing architectures.
  • Experience designing programmable clock generation and distribution systems for multiple sampling rates and bandwidths.
  • Experience designing low-noise power supplies for high-performance mixed-signal and RF hardware.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, and related RF test equipment.
  • Experience collaborating with PCB layout engineers to optimize placement, controlled-impedance routing, grounding, isolation, and manufacturability.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex analog and mixed-signal performance issues.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Highly desired: Experience with AMD Xilinx RFSoC devices.
  • Highly desired: Experience with board-to-board synchronization, timing distribution, phase alignment, and multi-board RF systems.
  • Highly desired: Experience designing RF circuits operating up to 30 GHz.
  • Highly desired: Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition DxDesigner.
  • Highly desired: Experience with complex multilayer PCBs, blind/buried microvias, and low-loss RF materials.
  • Highly desired: Background developing RF hardware for defense, aerospace, electronic warfare, communications, radar, or embedded computing applications.
  • Highly desired: Technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and contributing to architecture decisions.
04
