Restaurant Assistant Manager - New Jersey - Deptford, New Jersey

Patrice & Associates is seeking a Restaurant Assistant Manager to support daily FOH/BOH operations, drive sales and guest satisfaction, coordinate catering, manage scheduling, and support team members under the direction of the General Manager. Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of salaried restaurant management experience, strong leadership, tech-savvy operational skills, and a high-energy, positive, team-first attitude.

• Support the General Manager in achieving sales initiatives and delivering excellent customer service
• Operate FOH and BOH to system-wide standards and procedures
• Serve as first point of contact for hourly staff questions; escalate complex issues to the General Manager
• Coordinate and execute catering events
• Monitor sales, costs, events, and parties; report concerns to the General Manager
• Create and manage schedules for staff
• Utilize computer tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel) for reporting, budgeting, and planning
• Apply basic P&L knowledge to control costs and optimize performance
• Ensure guest satisfaction and resolve customer issues promptly
• Leverage POS systems and data/AI-driven insights for operational improvements
• Oversee inventory control, vendor coordination, and workflow optimization
• Support team management, coaching, and performance evaluation
• Maintain food safety standards (HACCP) and uphold service quality
• Assist with local marketing, social media, and promotional initiatives

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a salaried manager in QSR, casual dining, or full service
• Stable work history demonstrating career progression
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; comfortable with POS systems and data-driven decision-making
• Basic understanding of budgeting and P&L; scheduling experience
• Strong leadership, team management, and staff supervision skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution abilities
• Customer-focused mindset with proven service recovery skills
• Adaptability, flexibility in scheduling, and ability to make quick decisions under pressure
• High energy, positive attitude, loyalty, and dependability
• Desire to be part of a winning team; driven and motivated mindset
• Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP); awareness of culinary trends and beverage program basics
• Experience in inventory control, vendor management, and workflow optimization
• Familiarity with local marketing, branding initiatives, social media, and promotions
