The Real Estate Development CPA will be responsible for managing the accounting, tax preparation, and compliance of multiple real estate entities. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Net Operating Losses (NOLs), Passive Activity Losses (PALs), and multi-entity tax strategies. This position requires a proactive individual capable of managing complex filings and ensuring accurate financial reporting across numerous real estate development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file over 100 LLC and C-Corp tax returns (initial priority).
Manage all financial records, reconciliations, and tax filings for multiple real estate entities.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ensure GAAP compliance.
Analyze and apply NOL (Net Operating Loss) and PAL (Passive Activity Loss) rules to optimize tax outcomes.
Coordinate with U.S.-based legal and finance teams to ensure accurate entity setup and compliance.
Manage intercompany transactions, consolidations, and depreciation schedules for real estate assets.
Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to management regarding entity structure and tax efficiencies.
Stay updated on U.S. tax code changes affecting real estate investments and development projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA license (U.S. or equivalent certification strongly preferred).
5+ years of experience in accounting and taxation, preferably within the real estate development or investment industry.
Proven experience handling multi-entity accounting and tax return filings for LLCs and corporations.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, NOLs, PALs, and tax compliance for real estate investments.
Experience with accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks, ProConnect, CCH, or similar).
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
