Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is recruiting a proactive Quality Manager for our manufacturing client to lead quality systems, product compliance, and continuous improvement. The role drives Lean Six Sigma initiatives, oversees audits and supplier quality, mentors the QA team, and collaborates cross-functionally to enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Candidates must have an engineering or technical degree and a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent lean practitioner certification, with 5+ years in a quality leadership role.

How You'll Contribute

  • Lead the Quality Assurance team to maintain and improve quality systems, procedures, and metrics across manufacturing operations
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer and third-party audits, corrective actions, and product quality issues
  • Implement and drive Lean Six Sigma projects to reduce variability, defects, and non-conformities
  • Monitor quality KPIs, conduct trend analysis, and report results to senior management
  • Develop, mentor, and train quality personnel to enhance team performance and engagement
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Customer Service, and Supply Chain to resolve root causes using 8D, DMAIC, and other structured problem-solving tools
  • Oversee supplier quality performance and support qualification and audit activities
  • Champion a culture of Continuous Improvement and operational excellence throughout the facility
  • Work effectively in a mixed office and manufacturing floor environment and support occasional travel (<20%) to suppliers, customer sites, and facilities

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (required)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment (required)
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or lean practitioner certification; demonstrated Lean expertise (required)
  • Proven track record leading successful quality initiatives and managing cross-functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies: FMEA, SPC, CAPA, root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality management
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and travel up to 20%; current passport required
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP systems
  • Preferred: Experience using Microsoft SharePoint for document control and collaboration
  • Preferred: Demonstrated success leading Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Preferred: Familiarity with relevant industry-specific standards or compliance requirements
