Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is partnering with multiple manufacturing clients across the United States to hire experienced Quality Managers. This is a single-application talent funnel for several confidential openings in food, pharmaceutical, medical device, plastics, and metals manufacturing. How You'll Contribute
  • Own and maintain the plant-level Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, GMP/FDA, HACCP).
  • Plan, lead, and participate in internal and external audits, including customer, supplier, and regulatory audits; drive closure of findings.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activities to address nonconformances, customer complaints, and internal quality issues.
  • Manage supplier quality programs, including qualification, monitoring, and performance improvement of key suppliers.
  • Oversee customer complaint management, including investigation, response, and long-term corrective actions.
  • Use tools such as FMEA, control plans, SPC, and risk assessments to prevent defects and improve process capability.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a quality team (e.g., quality engineers, technicians, inspectors), fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with production, engineering, maintenance, EHS, and plant leadership to align on quality standards and problem-solving priorities.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Support new product introductions, process changes, and validations from a quality and compliance perspective.
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics (e.g., ppm, complaints, cost of poor quality) and lead initiatives to improve performance.
  • Champion a strong safety and compliance culture aligned with site and corporate expectations.

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Proven experience in a Quality Manager or senior quality leadership role within a manufacturing environment (food, pharma, medical device, automotive, plastics, or metals preferred).
  • Hands-on ownership of a Quality Management System (QMS) aligned to one or more of: ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, GMP / FDA, HACCP.
  • Demonstrated experience with RCA, CAPA, FMEA, audits, and structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D).
  • Experience leading or participating in internal, customer, supplier, and/or regulatory audits.
  • Strong background in Lean and/or Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement (certifications a plus but not required).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team in a plant environment.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with production, engineering, maintenance, and plant leadership to resolve issues and implement sustainable changes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and substantial plant experience will be strongly considered.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization, from operators to plant management.
  • Eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship availability may vary by client.
