We're hiring a full-time Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Great Falls, MT. How You'll Contribute

  • Conduct boundary, cadastral, hydraulic, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys/staking for public and private projects
  • Perform field data collection with GPS, robotic total stations, and related survey equipment
  • Process and analyze survey data using Trimble Business Center and Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Prepare and review survey maps, plats, legal descriptions, and technical reports
  • Ensure deliverables comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards
  • Interpret zoning laws, subdivision regulations, deeds, and property records to determine boundaries
  • Review and verify survey calculations, data accuracy, and mapping quality control
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, developers, and government agencies on land development, infrastructure, and construction projects
  • Support construction staking and layout for civil and site projects
  • Manage workload and deadlines while communicating progress with project managers and clients

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Montana
  • 3+ years of experience as a licensed PLS (preferred)
  • Associate’s degree in surveying or equivalent from an accredited postsecondary institution (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Trimble Business Center and Autodesk Civil 3D; familiarity with AutoCAD and Carlson Survey a plus
  • Strong field skills with GPS, robotic total stations, and standard survey practices
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects, deadlines, and client needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative, with willingness to work under guidance of experienced Project Managers
