Why This Role Matters

Papa is hiring a Principal Product Designer to architect and lead end-to-end product and service design for a multi-actor care ecosystem supporting older adults and their family caregivers. Reporting to the CTO, this hands-on design leader will own experience and service architecture, evolve accessible design systems, drive research and data-informed iteration, and represent design at the executive level while mentoring designers. How You'll Contribute

  • Architect offline-to-online service journeys that translate digital requests into real-world human connections
  • Lead D2C and referral experience design to optimize conversion while preserving a warm, personal care brand
  • Design multi-actor programs and services that deliver measurable outcomes for members and families
  • Build high-fidelity, logic-rich prototypes using tools such as Figma, Framer, Webflow, or similar
  • Evolve and maintain an accessible, WCAG 2.1+ compliant design system for mobile and web, with a focus on aging populations
  • Conduct qualitative and ethnographic research with members, Papa Pals, and caregivers to uncover unmet needs
  • Facilitate cross-functional design sprints and co-creation workshops with Engineering, Data, Product, Operations, and partners
  • Translate research insights and health outcomes data into actionable, iterative design improvements
  • Represent Design at the executive level; co-author design, technology, and business strategy with the CTO
  • Mentor designers and uphold design quality across the organization
  • Own the full product design lifecycle from discovery through post-launch monitoring and iteration

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 10+ years designing complex human services products (e.g., healthcare, education, hospitality)

  • Expert mastery of Figma and high-fidelity prototyping for complex logic flows

  • Proven ability to shape strategy upstream of engineering through clear visual artifacts and narratives

  • Exceptional storytelling and executive presentation skills; able to defend decisions with empathy and technical logic

  • Portfolio of large-scale, shipped products solving complex systemic problems

  • Expertise across the end-to-end design process: ethnographic research, synthesis, prototyping, delivery, and post-launch analysis

  • Experience maintaining accessible (WCAG 2.1+) multi-platform design systems

  • Familiarity with research and analytics tools (e.g., UserTesting, Dovetail, Hotjar/FullStory, Mixpanel, Segment, Amplitude)

  • Comfort using AI-native tools to accelerate workflow and quality

  • Proficiency in service blueprinting and journey mapping tools (e.g., Miro, Lucidchart, FigJam)

  • Ideally: experience with direct-to-consumer products, CMS frameworks, HIPAA compliance, age tech or caregiver platforms, and referral/self-pay funnels focused on trust-building
