Principal AI Architect - Redwood City, California

Talent Finders is seeking a Principal AI Architect to lead the end-to-end architecture for production-grade ML and Generative AI systems powering next-gen autonomous fulfillment solutions. This role owns the ML vision, designs scalable pipelines, prototypes core algorithms, and partners cross-functionally to translate real-world fulfillment challenges into robust, cloud-native AI systems.

• Own and articulate the architectural vision for all ML applications across the product suite
• Translate business and fulfillment needs into scalable, robust ML system designs
• Define architecture, patterns, and build POCs for core ML algorithms (e.g., GreyMatter)
• Design and guide implementation of ML pipelines: data ingestion, training, validation, deployment, monitoring
• Collaborate with software, robotics, product, and operations to align system goals with real-world constraints
• Evaluate and apply state-of-the-art ML/AI techniques, including Generative AI and LLMs
• Leverage cloud ML services (e.g., Vertex AI) to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions
• Establish MLOps practices for continuous model delivery, observability, and lifecycle management
• Identify high-impact AI use cases and define technical requirements and roadmaps
• Contribute to an organization-wide AI strategy and execution plan

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in academia and/or industry building ML systems
• Deep expertise in machine learning and deep learning with proven production deployments
• Hands-on experience across the full ML lifecycle: data collection, training, evaluation, MLOps, deployment, monitoring
• Experience with Generative AI and large language models (LLMs)
• Proficiency with cloud platforms and managed ML services (e.g., Google Cloud Vertex AI)
• Ability to identify high-value AI opportunities and translate business problems into technical solutions
• Experience defining and implementing an AI strategy and roadmap for a team or organization
• Strong understanding of data architecture and big data technologies (data lakes, streaming pipelines)
• Demonstrated application of MLOps principles and tools for continuous model delivery
• Nice to have: Open-source contributions, research publications, or patents in ML/AI
