Why This Role Matters

We are seeking a highly responsible and experienced Pharmacist in Charge for upcoming pharmacy locations in both Galesburg, IL and Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will lead pharmacy operations, manage pharmacy technicians, and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient dispensing of medications. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled pharmacy leader to join a team prior to a new facility launch in April 2026. The pharmacy will be closed on weekends and major holidays, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM (including a lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM). Office space is available on-site.

How You'll Contribute

  • Review prescriptions for accuracy and compliance with legal standards
  • Prepare and dispense medications using proper dosages and protocols
  • Maintain up-to-date patient medication records and profiles
  • Provide guidance and counseling to patients regarding medication use
  • Oversee daily operations of the pharmacy, including inventory management
  • Ensure the pharmacy complies with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Manage, schedule, and support a team of pharmacy technicians
  • Report any staffing or performance concerns to senior management
  • Maintain HIPAA, Fraud, Waste & Abuse certifications and ensure team compliance
  • Additional duties as needed to support daily operations

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Active pharmacist license in Illinois or Pennsylvania (depending on location)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in retail pharmacy management
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and digital record keeping

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Proven ability to manage staff scheduling and performance
  • Experience working in retail pharmacy environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing throughout the workday
  • Manual dexterity to handle medications and pharmacy tools
  • Strong fine motor skills
