MissionHires is hiring an Oracle Database and Apps Admin on behalf of a long-standing, mission-driven nonprofit. In this hybrid role (3 days onsite near Oakland/SFO), you’ll own administration, optimization, and reliability for Oracle 19c RAC databases, Oracle EBS (12.1/12.2), and Red Hat/Oracle Linux infrastructure in a large, multi-terabyte enterprise environment. You’ll work with a cohesive, low-turnover IT team and seasoned leadership focused on modernization, automation, and performance. How You'll Contribute

  • Administer and support Oracle 19c RAC databases ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability
  • Manage Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1/12.2 (HR, Payroll, Financials) in production environments
  • Support and maintain Oracle WebCenter Content, middleware, and infrastructure (Exadata, Oracle App Servers)
  • Administer Red Hat/Oracle Linux environments and VMs running Tomcat, WebLogic, ORDS, and APEX
  • Own database security, user administration, and implement encryption, data masking, and related controls
  • Design and manage RMAN backup/recovery, Data Guard standbys, and environment cloning for QA and Dev
  • Lead installations, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning across databases and applications
  • Develop automation scripts, monitoring, and reporting utilities to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Partner with developers for releases and custom solutions; deploy Oracle clients and development tools
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and SOPs
  • Collaborate with vendors (Oracle, Red Hat, EMC, VMware, Nutanix) to resolve issues and optimize platforms
  • Support other business-critical enterprise applications as needed

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years administering Oracle databases and enterprise application environments
  • Hands-on expertise with Oracle 19c RAC, Exadata, and Oracle EBS 12.1/12.2
  • Proven experience supporting Oracle EBS in production; HR, Payroll, and Financials preferred (other R12 modules considered)
  • Linux administration experience with Red Hat and/or Oracle Linux
  • Strong knowledge of HA/DR: RAC, Data Guard, RMAN
  • Working knowledge of Oracle multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB)
  • Experience with large, multi-terabyte databases and highly available production systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of database security (encryption, replication, data masking)
  • Strong communication skills with ability to produce and maintain technical documentation
  • Local to the San Francisco Bay Area preferred, or willingness to relocate upon start (within the USA)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship
  • Nice to have: Oracle certifications; Oracle Enterprise Manager; Oracle Cloud; EMC/CommVault backup tools; VMware and Nutanix experience
