MissionHires is seeking an Operations Manager (Automotive Industry) to organize and control plant manufacturing functions to assemble quality products efficiently, on time, and profitably. This role directs all production activities for an assigned shift, drives continuous improvement, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, reports on labor and machine utilization, and leads, develops, and evaluates production teams to meet delivery schedules and plant profitability goals.

How You'll Contribute

  • Direct all production activities for assigned shift to meet production, quality, and delivery schedules
  • Lead timely continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor
  • Report plant labor operating efficiencies and machine utilization to management
  • Conduct performance evaluations for Production Supervisors
  • Ensure standards are met for production, quality, and safety
  • Maintain a safe work environment and 5S housekeeping across the production floor
  • Assist in evaluating causes of downtime and direct 8D corrective actions
  • Make staffing and scheduling decisions with the Operations Manager for assembly personnel
  • Proactively resolve problems and conflicts on the production floor
  • Demonstrate a positive management approach and actively participate in meetings
  • Direct and supervise Team Leaders and production Team Members for accurate and timely output
  • Institute and maintain safe work practices and direct plant emergencies as needed
  • Oversee training and development of Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Technicians in sociological and technological responsibilities
  • Ensure strict compliance with Quality Control standards and support the company’s quality reputation
  • Communicate and counsel employees to maintain a high level of understanding
  • Manage with integrity to promote trust across all employees
  • Analyze production to identify and implement profitability improvements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Manufacturing experience with several years in a supervisory role
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes
  • Proven experience enforcing safety standards and 5S practices
  • Demonstrated capability to lead continuous improvement and corrective actions (e.g., 8D)
  • Experience reporting on labor efficiency and machine utilization
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and performance evaluation skills
  • Effective conflict resolution and cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to manage staffing, scheduling, and shift-based production operations
