About the Role: A reputable healthcare facility in southern West Virginia is seeking a skilled Nursing Director (RN) for Surgical Services to oversee a robust perioperative care program. This newly created leadership role is ideal for a nurse leader experienced in OR operations and passionate about driving patient-centered care and operational excellence. The position provides administrative and clinical oversight for Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Outpatient Surgery, Pre/Post-Operative Services, and Endoscopy. The Surgical Services Department supports a wide variety of surgical specialties such as general surgery, vascular, and orthopedics.

How You'll Contribute

  • Lead operations across perioperative areas ensuring clinical efficiency, safety, and compliance.
  • Monitor KPIs including OR utilization, turnover time, and on-time surgical starts.
  • Develop departmental budgets and ensure efficient resource use.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia, surgeons, and nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and state regulatory standards.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage staff; support ongoing professional development.
  • Spearhead quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active RN license in West Virginia (or eligibility for licensure)
  • 5-7 years of perioperative nursing experience, including leadership roles
  • Deep understanding of AORN/ASPAN standards and CMS/Joint Commission compliance
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain within defined timeframe)
