Why This Role Matters

We are seeking motivated & compassionate Physician Assistants (PA) or Nurse Practitioners (NP) to join our mobile wound care team. In this role, you will travel to various patient care settings—such as skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, group homes, and private residences—to provide advanced wound care services. You will work collaboratively with physicians, facility staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal healing outcomes for patients with acute and chronic wounds.




How You'll Contribute

Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations of wounds (e.g., pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, trauma wounds).
• Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans based on current evidence-based guidelines.
• Perform debridement procedures (sharp, enzymatic, autolytic) as appropriate.
• Apply and manage advanced wound care dressings, negative pressure wound therapy, and other modalities.
• Document all patient encounters accurately in EMR, including wound measurements, photos, staging, and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with supervising physician(s) and other healthcare providers as needed for care coordination.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on wound prevention, treatment, and self-care techniques.
• Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Adhere to infection control practices and safety guidelines at all times.
• Participate in quality assurance and clinical compliance activities.

What Makes You a Great Fit


Qualifications:
• Active and unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Alabama.
• National certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA).
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (wound care, dermatology, surgery, or geriatrics preferred).
• Certification in wound care (e.g., WCC, CWCN, CWS) is a plus or willingness to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Comfortable working independently in varied settings.
