Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is seeking an experienced Network Manager to lead daily network and systems operations, manage a small team of Network Engineers/Administrators, and drive infrastructure projects across multiple locations. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity, network devices, servers, and supporting technology across on-premises, colocation, hosted, and cloud environments.

How You'll Contribute
  • Lead and develop a team of 2–5 Network Engineers and Administrators, including performance management, coaching, and fostering teamwork.
  • Maintain and administer network infrastructure, including internal and external connectivity, switches, routers, firewalls, servers, iOS versions, and related technology hardware.
  • Manage LAN and SD-WAN environments, routing protocols, Cisco Catalyst switches, routers, firewalls, ASAs, and ION devices.
  • Monitor, optimize, and tune network and system performance while maintaining high availability and reducing single points of failure.
  • Lead technology infrastructure projects, including site build-outs, relocations, system refreshes, network scaling initiatives, and infrastructure deployments.
  • Work with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, telecom carriers, and vendors to coordinate projects, resolve issues, and maintain effective communication.
  • Participate in and manage availability and security audits; identify, recommend, remediate, and close infrastructure vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain and administer intrusion prevention and detection systems.
  • Configure, deploy, test, and support infrastructure systems and network solutions across on-premises, hosted, colocation, and hyperscaler environments.
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, testing, and improvement efforts.
  • Maintain accurate network device inventories, vendor contracts, connectivity documentation, and network topology diagrams.
  • Recommend, evaluate, and procure network devices, systems, and infrastructure services.
  • Support day-to-day technology operations, including incident and ticket resolution, vendor coordination, documentation, and escalation management.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation and provide support for critical incidents.
  • Travel domestically as needed to support projects, site deployments, and break/fix efforts.

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • 7–10 years of equivalent professional experience in network, systems, or technology infrastructure operations, or a college diploma or university degree in computer science with relevant experience.
  • Experience leading or managing network engineering and administration teams.
  • Strong expertise in internal and external routing, network security, protocols, connectivity, and enterprise network devices.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst switches, routers, and firewalls; CCNA-level knowledge is required.
  • Configuration-level knowledge of LAN, SD-WAN platforms, and routing protocols.
  • Administrator-level knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and Windows desktop environments.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure across multiple sites, including data center, on-premises, colocation, hosted, and cloud environments.
  • Ability to manage network scalability, infrastructure resources, technology vendors, and telecom carriers.
  • Experience with security, availability, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
  • Strong project and resource management skills, including the ability to lead infrastructure refreshes and deployments.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, network topologies, and presentations using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts, incident management, production and staging environments, and help desk ticketing systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of management.
  • Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call rotation and travel domestically when needed.
