Why This Role Matters

The Manufacturing Molding Specialist/ Engineer will not only lead the installation of production equipment, but will monitor, repair and improve the equipment during the life of the program. Successful candidates should have the ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team.

How You'll Contribute

  • Make PLC/HMI changes to equipment without assistance or guidance from the Lead Manufacturing Engineer

  • Monitor daily defect and downtime issues; report findings to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal supervision

  • Modify written and electronic documentation with approval from the Lead Manufacturing Engineer

  • Manage large-scope equipment modifications

  • Design, quote, and purchase large-scope tooling with approval from the Lead Manufacturing Engineer

  • Set up and configure vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Panasonic)

  • Develop and validate improvement processes for the manufacturing of ignition coils

  • Increase manufacturing capacity and efficiency through process improvements and the fabrication, purchase, installation, and validation of new equipment

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair injection molding machines and molds

  • Ability to set up, troubleshoot, and update injection molding machines and processes

  • Ability to maintain and meet project schedules

  • Strong project budget management skills

  • Knowledge of process instrumentation

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively with manufacturing engineers, design engineers, production teams, and safety staff

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and injection molding manufacturing equipment

  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., CC-Link, Ethernet/IP)

  • Ability to work flexible hours based on customer needs

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
