Morton is seeking a Manager, Audio Visual Integration to lead our client’s AV Integration and Support Services team in the Richmond region (Mechanicsville, VA). This onsite, direct-hire role oversees daily operations, project profitability, customer escalations, team development, and service delivery across AV integration projects and support activities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on AV/IT management experience, strong project and people leadership, and deep knowledge of commercial AV systems, construction practices, and tools like ConnectWise.

How You'll Contribute

  • Manage A/V Integration and Service Support teams’ daily activities, personnel development, and career progression
  • Oversee multiple Project Managers and ensure accurate reporting on project profitability
  • Serve as primary customer point of contact for escalations, issue identification, and resolution
  • Communicate constructively with stakeholders to meet customer expectations
  • Maintain awareness of outstanding pre- and post-delivery issues and provide client status updates
  • Produce accurate reports and metrics on ongoing projects and budgets for leadership
  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery through production
  • Provide technical leadership to support continuity and performance of A/V field teams
  • Complete required training and understand processes in ConnectWise Manage/University
  • Validate and approve time/expenses in ConnectWise and ensure accurate project allocation
  • Review service and project tickets for A/V field teams in ConnectWise
  • Ensure timely delivery of documentation for internal processes and end users
  • Clarify and communicate project objectives and requirements to all team members
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and EOS-format quarterly conversations; mentor team members
  • Develop training programs to build and refine A/V field team skills
  • Facilitate regular departmental Level 10 Meetings using the EOS process for updates and alignment
  • Assist project/engineering teams with design and development tasks
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to the role
  • Drive improved customer perception and satisfaction
  • Oversee department fleet/vehicle maintenance and safety standards

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Previous Audio Visual/IT management experience required

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and high-pressure situations with meticulous attention to detail

  • Experience leading project managers and AV field/service teams, with accountability for project profitability

  • Applicable AV certifications (e.g., Crestron, Biamp, Shure, QSC) and related training/education preferred but not required

  • Ability to read/interpret AV project drawings, schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals

  • Understanding of construction blueprints and commercial construction practices

  • Above-average knowledge and hands-on experience with installation/integration of AV systems: video walls, projection, flat panels, control systems, signal routing/processing, and UCC platforms (Cisco, Poly, Microsoft Teams, Zoom)

  • Strategic planning capability with a 6–12 month planning horizon

  • Effective, tactful communication skills and ability to manage sensitive situations

  • Self-motivated, able to thrive in a fast-moving environment with strong interpersonal and time management skills

  • Proficiency with ConnectWise Manage for time/expense validation, ticket review, and reporting

  • Willingness and ability to work onsite in Mechanicsville, VA (Richmond region)

  • Ability to conduct evaluations, mentor staff, and facilitate EOS Level 10 meetings

  • Capability to oversee fleet/vehicle maintenance and safety compliance
