This is a hands-on leadership role owning the full sales and operations lifecycle—from developing contractor relationships and estimating to yard oversight, vendor strategy, and P&L impact. How You'll Contribute

  • Build and grow a strong contractor and builder network through proactive outreach and job site visits
  • Develop and maintain a consistent sales pipeline with disciplined follow-up to win and retain business
  • Review plans, perform accurate take-offs, and deliver competitive, timely quotes
  • Identify upsell opportunities and recommend product alternatives to maximize value and margin
  • Align yard operations with sales priorities to ensure efficiency, organization, safety, and workflow
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and workload planning to meet customer expectations
  • Oversee and occasionally support equipment operation (e.g., forklifts, Moffetts)
  • Monitor inventory levels, product movement, margins, and key SKUs to inform purchasing
  • Partner with vendors on product selection, buybacks, pricing, and new opportunities
  • Anticipate seasonal demand trends and recommend purchasing strategies based on real-time market conditions
  • Manage performance using sales data, margin analysis, and P&L insights; adjust strategies to drive profitability
  • Provide input on market trends, competitive positioning, and pricing strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution from first conversation to final delivery

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 5+ years of experience in lumber, building materials, or construction sales

  • Strong estimating skills, including plan reading and accurate take-offs

  • Experience leading or managing yard and/or delivery operations

  • Proven vendor management and negotiation experience

  • Background in inventory management and purchasing decisions

  • Established contractor or builder relationships in your market

  • Deep understanding of lumber products, pricing, and seasonal demand patterns

  • Proactive hunter mentality with a track record of building and growing pipeline

  • Strong organization, communication, and follow-through skills
