MissionHires is supporting a reputable healthcare system in Western Massachusetts to hire an Administrative Director for Laboratory Services. The Director will lead multi-site lab operations (main labs, satellites, and POCT), ensure full regulatory compliance, elevate quality and performance, and drive strategic growth—particularly in outreach—while partnering closely with pathologists, lab managers, and senior executives.

How You'll Contribute

  • Provide executive leadership for multi-site laboratory operations across main labs, satellite locations, and point-of-care testing environments
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, CLIA, FDA, Medicare, and applicable state regulations
  • Collaborate with department managers and pathologists to maintain and improve service quality and turnaround times
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives with a focus on outreach service development and market growth
  • Implement and champion quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize workflows and outcomes
  • Own and manage large operational and capital budgets; monitor and improve clinical and financial KPIs
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior executives and cross-functional leaders
  • Standardize policies, procedures, and performance metrics across all testing environments
  • Oversee staffing plans, talent development, and succession planning for laboratory teams
  • Evaluate and implement technology, instrumentation, and process innovations to enhance efficiency and quality

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with oversight of multi-site clinical laboratories
  • Demonstrated success in business development and operational growth, including outreach services
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration (completed or in progress)
  • Proven expertise applying Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to drive quality and process improvement
  • Experience managing large budgets and operational KPIs across clinical and financial metrics
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Preferred: BS in Medical Technology or closely related field
  • Knowledge of and experience with OSHA, CLIA, FDA, Medicare, and state regulatory requirements
  • Track record of building effective collaborations with pathologists, lab managers, and executive leadership
  • Ability to standardize operations across diverse testing sites, including POCT environments
