Fast Casual Restaurant Assistant General Manager - Washington D.C., District of Columbia

A fast-growing, mission-driven fresh-food brand is recruiting an Assistant General Manager. In this high-energy role, you will support daily operations, lead and develop a team, uphold food safety and quality standards, and deliver an outstanding guest experience while driving shop performance.

• Support the General Manager in hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching team members
• Lead by example to foster a positive, high-performing culture
• Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
• Deliver outstanding guest service and resolve guest issues promptly
• Monitor shop performance metrics and use data to improve results
• Oversee inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction
• Support sales growth initiatives and local store marketing efforts
• Conduct daily briefings to encourage open communication and teamwork
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant operation
• Assist with cash handling, deposits, and basic administrative tasks

• Hands-on leadership experience in a restaurant, café, or quick-service environment
• Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate diverse teams
• Passion for fresh food, great service, and developing people
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
• Comfort using data and KPIs to drive operational decisions
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
