A leading wireless communications company is seeking a Director of Technology Development to join the CTO’s Office. This strategic role will drive government-funded R&D growth, guide the company’s technology roadmap, and ensure successful technical execution of advanced wireless programs. The position plays a critical role in expanding the company’s intellectual property portfolio and strengthening its presence across government and commercial markets.
Strategic & Technical Leadership
Lead and expand government R&D funding initiatives
Oversee execution of the company’s technology roadmap under the CTO’s direction
Partner with the CTO and VP of Engineering to drive successful delivery of R&D programs
Identify technical development priorities and support roadmap implementation
Business Development & External Engagement
Interface with government funding organizations and attend industry events
Lead white paper and proposal development through contract award
Participate in demonstrations, experiments, and customer meetings
Support business development initiatives across technical programs
Team & IP Development
Grow, manage, and mentor a diversified engineering workforce
Expand and strengthen the company’s IP portfolio through BD and execution efforts
MS in Electrical Engineering required; PhD preferred
Minimum 7+ years of wireless communication systems design experience (post-PhD preferred)
Strong experience in RF sensing and signal analysis (preferred)
Proven ability in technical presentations, proposal writing, and reporting
Experience engaging government-sector customers
Hands-on management experience in wireless system design
Working knowledge of simulation tools such as MATLAB and C
Technical Expertise (Desired)
RF signal propagation & channel modeling
Digital communications
RF sensing & signal analysis
Machine learning applications in signal processing
MIMO systems
Mesh networking
Active Secret Clearance preferred (due to occasional classified discussions)
