The Director of Sales is responsible for leading sales growth with major Canadian retailers including Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Costco, and others. This role requires strong sales leadership, proven success in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), and financial acumen with full P&L responsibility. Initially hands-on with key account management, you’ll transition into leading a sales team while driving profitability, growth, and client satisfaction.
Manage and grow national accounts (Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Costco, Rona, etc.)
Build and maintain strong retailer relationships at decision-maker level
Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company goals
Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of sales professionals
Drive profitability through P&L oversight, budgeting, and financial reporting
Actively sell into new opportunities while supporting existing accounts
Collaborate with supply chain and internal teams on product launches and transitions
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust strategies
Prepare detailed sales reports and presentations for senior management
Travel 10–25% (Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec, plus occasional international)
8+ years of B2B sales experience (preferably CPG)
5+ years of leadership experience managing sales teams
Proven track record selling into large big-box retailers (Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Costco, etc.)
Strong financial acumen: P&L, budgets, forecasting, strategy
University or college degree in business or related field
Intermediate Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Base Salary: $175,000 – $200,000 CAD + bonuses (OTE $240,000+)
