Director of Nursing - Surgical Services (OR) - Rio Rancho, New Mexico

We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Director of Nursing to lead Surgical Services in a dynamic and high-volume perioperative environment. This role oversees Operating Room functions, including GI suites, PACU, Pre-op, and a Pre-admission Testing Clinic. The successful candidate will guide a team of approximately 100 clinical and support staff and collaborate with top-tier surgical professionals, including experts in robotic procedures.

• Lead the daily operations, strategy, and performance of surgical services departments.
• Develop and mentor leaders and staff to enhance clinical excellence.
• Monitor and improve patient care, satisfaction, and employee engagement.
• Foster collaboration between teams and with medical staff.
• Manage department financials and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.

• Current RN license in good standing.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. (Candidates not yet holding a BSN must be actively enrolled in an accredited BSN program.)

• Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

• At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience, including 2-3 years in a leadership role within surgical services.

• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.

• Clinical specialty or nurse administration certification preferred.

• Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational leadership skills required.

• Direct oversight in an OR setting with a high surgical volume (600+ cases monthly).

• Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgery and managing advanced surgical technology programs.
