Director of Medical / Surgical Services - Las Cruces, New Mexico

A leading healthcare facility in Southern New Mexico is seeking a seasoned nursing leader to oversee its Medical/Surgical and Telemetry departments. This Director-level role reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and is critical to developing staff, implementing quality initiatives, maintaining compliance standards, and overseeing departmental budgets and performance. This is a dynamic opportunity for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about improving patient outcomes.

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units.

• Develop and mentor nursing staff while ensuring a high standard of patient care.

• Oversee budgeting, staffing, productivity metrics, and regulatory compliance.

• Support clinical excellence and operational efficiency across units.

• Implement policies and procedures aligned with best practices and healthcare standards.

• Active or eligible New Mexico RN license.

• Minimum 7 years of healthcare experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.

• Preferred: MSN, MBA, or Healthcare Administration degree.

• Previous experience in a for-profit hospital is strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated success in building high-performing teams focused on quality improvement.

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
