Cardiothoracic Surgeon - Dothan, Alabama

A well-established surgical group in Dothan, Alabama is seeking an additional Cardiothoracic/Cardiovascular Surgeon to join a practice of three board-certified surgeons. The Medical Center has a strong cardiovascular program, nationally ranked in the top 10% for patient safety in heart attack, interventional coronary, and vascular care. The group offers interventional, non-invasive, and structural heart programs and provides access to thoracic, cardiac, and vascular cases with a broad referral base from 13 counties.

• Access thoracic, cardiac, and vascular cases through established interventional, non-invasive, and structural heart programs.
• Share call equally at a 1:4 ratio.
• Work with residents in Transitional Year programs.
• Collaborate with IM Hospitalist service for medical consults and non-surgical care.
• Utilize available resources including 22 ORs, 2 endovascular and open heart suites, daVinci robotic surgical system, and dedicated CVICU.
• Work with Cardiothoracic APPs who assist in the OR, perform vein harvesting, facilitate rounds, and manage post-op care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active Alabama medical license with no restrictions (MD/DO)
• Experienced surgeon
• DEA certification
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Willingness to mentor the newest eager surgeon
• Experience with and willingness to perform TAVR
