A nationally recognized law firm in Charlotte, NC is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Associate to support its Bankruptcy & Restructuring team. This role involves hands-on work in corporate restructuring, distressed M&A, and insolvency matters, advising clients such as private equity firms, financial institutions, distressed investors, and corporate borrowers. The position requires working in a high-performance, client-facing environment where sound legal judgment and proactive thinking are essential.

How You'll Contribute

  • Provide strategic legal guidance on restructuring efforts, distressed transactions, and insolvency issues.
  • Lead or assist in negotiations, deal documentation, and overall transaction management.
  • Work directly with clients, financial advisors, and internal legal teams to deliver solutions that align with business objectives.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 2-6 years of relevant experience with a strong preference for bankruptcy or restructuring exposure.
  • Prior experience in a large law firm, particularly in finance or M&A, is a significant advantage.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. North Carolina Bar membership or eligibility preferred.
  • Excellent drafting, client communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Must be willing to relocate to or reside in the Charlotte area. Relocation assistance provided (approximately $10K, flexible).
  • Bankruptcy clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Graduated from a Top 30 Law School with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (no bottom 50%).
  • Experience with a Top 200 AM Law firm.
  • Availability for a hybrid work schedule (typically 3 days onsite).
