AutoCAD Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled AutoCAD Technician (Structural Detailer) to join our client’s team. This role is critical to ensuring the consistency and accuracy of structural detailing across reinforced concrete and masonry projects.

The ideal candidate will have advanced AutoCAD proficiency, at least 4 years of direct structural detailing experience, and the ability to produce drawings that align perfectly with the client’s established templates, standards, and workflows. There is no room for shortcuts, the client maintains the highest detailing standards in the region, and candidates must demonstrate their ability to meet those standards immediately.

• Prepare detailed structural drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD, based on provided templates, base files, and project parameters.

• Cut accurate structural sections based on plan and elevation views.

• Create new sections using information from architectural plans and conceptual designs.

• Collaborate closely with structural engineers and project managers to ensure alignment with project goals.

• Integrate architectural and conceptual design files, resolving discrepancies while maintaining accuracy.

• Apply provided schedules, sections, and dimensions to produce precise details for beams, columns, and other structural elements.

• Maintain strict adherence to company templates, CAD layer standards, and orientation requirements, no deviations or “reinventing the wheel.”

• Respond promptly to engineer and project manager feedback, making modifications to drawings as project needs evolve.

• Participate in internal QA/QC audits to ensure all construction documents meet client's standards and reduce field issues.

Required Qualifications

• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level); strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor's Degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

• 4-7 years of direct experience as a structural detailer or AutoCAD technician, specifically with reinforced concrete and masonry projects.

• Experience working in South Florida or on projects with similar design requirements.

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (full version).

• Strong understanding of construction documentation, structural detailing, and industry standards.

• Proven ability to cut accurate sections and details that mimic established engineering standards.

• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, accuracy is non-negotiable.

• Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and deliver consistently high-quality work without the need for close supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating and coordinating multiple design files (architectural, conceptual, structural).

• Familiarity with Revit or BIM is a plus (though AutoCAD proficiency is the primary requirement).

• Experience working with international developers or on urban projects.

• Direct, recent experience with reinforced concrete and masonry structural detailing.

• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency with strict adherence to company templates and standards.

Compensation & Benefits

• Full-Time, Remote Role

• Compensation: $12/hr USD depending on experience ($2,000/month).
