Architect - Santa Cruz, California

MissionHires is seeking an experienced Architect (licensed or on the path to licensure) with 8+ years of experience to lead projects from concept through construction in Santa Cruz, CA. You will coordinate clients and consultants, manage permitting, schedules, and budgets, produce contract documents in Revit, and support junior staff across residential, civic, and commercial projects.

• Lead projects through all phases: programming, design, documentation, permitting, and construction
• Conduct client meetings and maintain ongoing client coordination and communication
• Survey and document existing conditions
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants and ensure aligned deliverables
• Manage permitting processes with local jurisdictions
• Develop and manage project schedules and budgets
• Produce comprehensive Contract Documents and Revit-based drawing sets
• Oversee construction administration and construction management activities
• Mentor and support junior staff; foster effective team collaboration
• Maintain organized project documentation and clear communications

• Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure

• 8+ years of professional architectural experience

• Proficiency in Revit

• Demonstrated experience delivering projects from start to finish

• Strong organization, communication, and teamwork skills

• Ability to mentor and support junior team members

• Experience with residential (remodels and new homes), civic (government and colleges), and commercial (restaurants, music venues, retail, offices) project types

• Flexible schedule (One day remote, four days in the studio)
