This role is critical to driving growth in the retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) market by delivering innovative thermoformed packaging solutions. The Account Executive will help brands improve product protection, presentation, and cost efficiency while supporting sustainability initiatives.
By building strong relationships with retailers, private-label brands, and consumer goods companies, this position directly contributes to revenue growth, market expansion, and the adoption of modern packaging solutions.
Business Development
• Identify and pursue new opportunities with retailers, consumer brands, and private-label manufacturers.
• Sell custom thermoformed packaging solutions including blisters, clamshells, trays, inserts, and retail display packaging.
• Build relationships with procurement teams, packaging engineers, product managers, and merchandising teams.
• Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry events.
Account Management
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts while identifying new product opportunities and programs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, pricing discussions, and project coordination.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, design, and production teams to deliver custom packaging solutions.
Sales Strategy
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurate revenue forecasts.
• Develop pricing strategies aligned with material costs, tooling requirements, and production capabilities.
• Lead contract negotiations and long-term supply agreements with key clients.
Market & Product Expertise
• Provide insights on retail packaging trends, sustainability initiatives, and thermoforming technologies.
• Understand materials such as PET, RPET, PVC, HIPS, and biodegradable plastics.
• Educate customers on packaging design, manufacturing processes, and optimization opportunities.
• 5+ years of B2B sales experience in thermoforming, plastic packaging, or custom manufacturing.
• Proven success selling into retail, consumer goods, or private-label brands.
• Strong knowledge of thermoformed packaging applications.
• Experience managing large accounts and long sales cycles.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Preferred
• Experience selling retail packaging such as clamshells, blister packs, trays, or retail displays.
• Experience working with big-box retailers or national consumer brands.
• Familiarity with tooling, prototyping, and packaging design processes.
